Now situated within the Yarra Ranges, Victoria, Iain comes from South Ayrshire, Scotland and has resided in Australia since 1988.
Retired from the military in 1988 after 25 years, Iain now devotes the majority of his time to piping, and the history of the great highland bagpipe within a circle of like-minded pipers and friends in the Melbourne area.
"Pipers are the custodians of a rich heritage, and I am inspired and humbled by some of the great pipers of our day like Angus MacColl, Willy McCallum, Jack Lee, Gordon Walker, Stuart Liddell, Gordon Duncan and Roddy MacLeod, to name but a few".
Iain is the Regimental Association Piper to the Special Air Service Association Australia, and 2 Commando Company Victoria. In April 2018 Iain was appointed Piper to the Grand Master of Freemasons Victoria. He is also one of the resident pipers for the House of Scotland Melbourne and Scots Church Melbourne. He is also a guest piper with 5/6 Royal Victoria Regiment, and St. Andrews First Aid Australia.
