About Me

I began my bagpipe journey at 8 years old in a small town in country Victoria. Over the next decade, the band grew from a small group of four to five players performing at local ANZAC Day commemorations and agricultural shows into a highly successful competitive band, traveling extensively across Australia.

After relocating to Melbourne in 1998, I joined the City of Melbourne Pipe Band, competing at the highest national level and traveling all over Australia. I played numerous high profile events such as AFL Grand Final Parades, Grand Prix Balls & countless events. In 2006 I was invited to join the City of Adelaide Pipe Band as they travelled to the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in France, the world’s largest Celtic Festival. In 2007, I was appointed Pipe Major of the City of Melbourne Pipe Band for the upcoming competition season.

In 2008, I joined the internationally acclaimed Melbourne-based rock band The Go Set, marking the beginning of a 16+ year career blending traditional bagpipes with contemporary rock and alternative music. During this time, I performed thousands of shows worldwide and recorded seven studio albums and EPs, two live albums, a live DVD, and a feature-length documentary on the band.

Throughout my career, I have performed alongside some of Australia’s most respected artists and bands such as John Farnham, James Reyne, The Living End and shared stages with international acts including The Offspring, Flogging Molly, and Parkway Drive.

Notable piping highlights include performing at the 2008 AFL Grand Final alongside Powderfinger, recording a live performance at Chapel off Chapel with Motor Ace, recording a version of Dropkick Murphys’ “Tessie” for the Melbourne Aces baseball team, and performing as solo piper at the memorial for Skyhooks frontman and Australian TV icon Graeme “Shirly” Strachan.
